Electronic Warfare Systems

Any strategic use of the electromagnetic spectrum or tactics linked to the use of the electromagnetic spectrum, against an opponent in a military conflict is referred to as Electronic Warfare (EW).

The goal of EW is to deny the opponent access to the electromagnetic spectrum while ensuring friendly unrestricted access.

Crewed and uncrewed systems can use EW to target communication, radar, and other military and civilian assets from the air, sea, land, and space.

Our next generation modular-designed Electronic Warfare (EW) systems are built to replicate and counter evolving threats in the competed and contested multi-domain Electromagnetic Environment (EME).

NATO JEWCS Electronic Warfare System

Chelton is on contract to supply electronic warfare system (EW) training pods for NATO as part of the NATO Joint Electronic Warfare Core Staff (JEWCS) capability package.

Contracted to Leonardo, Chelton will deliver the full air and NATO Anti-Ship Missile Defense Evaluation Facility (NASMDEF) systems. In the air environment, the Chelton EW pods will provide complex and realistic Electronic Warfare training through radar and communications jamming as well as threat simulation.

The NASMDEF system is the first of its kind within NATO to provide next generation capability for anti-ship missile defence. Both EW training systems are designed to meet the evolving threat environment in which NATO JEWCS operates, enabling NATO forces to remain operationally ready to react to current and emerging threats.
